Rift Report: July 7th Edition

Patch 6.2 is right around the corner, we’re recapping all the big beats so you’re ready before the patch drops.

Welcome back to Rift Report! It’s been a few weeks since our last edition and we’ve missed catching up with you! This edition we’re taking a look at all the content that is coming in Patch 6.2 and recapping some of the articles and content we’ve had come out leading up to the launch, let’s dive in.

WHAT’S NEW PATCH 6.2

SOULFORCE AWAKENING

New patch? New theme. Just like our current patch, 6.2 will be bringing a brand new theme. In 6.1 we were focused on our two shining stars, Challenger’s Star and Adventure's Star. Which housed our PvP, Ranked, and Adventure Modes. The whole theme of this patch though is about finding your inner strength, and to do that you need to experience all that has to offer, so Soulforce Awakening is going to focus on all the new content, not just two stars. The new theme will of course be placed all throughout the game, when you log in you’ll be greeted by a beautiful stained glass, and there will be special theming in the lobby, loading screen, and store! Additionally you’ll be awarded as you participate, and we have some extra special rewards, including multiple Aurora Chromas. You can learn more about Soulforce Awakening here.

GAMEPLAY

In addition to the new patch theme we have a slew of new gameplay updates. The first will of course be our new champions, which will bring a dash of magic and whimsy to the patch. Aurora, Bard, and Vel’Koz will be prancing onto the Rift ready to teach us a geometry lesson or two. Who are you most excited for? We’ll also be reworking Galio and Swain later in the patch, making one more tanky and the other more terrifying.

We’ll also be making some updates to Bandle Rift, it’s been out for about half a year now and the dev team is excited to bring some targeted updates to the Rift. Our personal favorite? The Enchanted Piggy who will grant you some XP and help you take down turrets. We also have an overhaul to the Enchantment system, making them more appealing to add to your builds, rather than defaulting to Zhonya’s or skipping them all together. Galio’s Aegis is here to stay. In Patch 6.2 it will become a permanent feature, so those games that you lose and play well in won’t feel as bad. And last but not least we have some updates to a few marksmen and their items. If you want to learn more about the Gameplay updates coming with some insights from our dev team, read our deep dive article here.

PLAYER BEHAVIOR SYSTEM

The feature the team is most excited to bring you this patch is our Player Behavior System! We know that this has been a heavily requested feature by a lot of you, so we’re happy to be bringing it to you all this patch.

This system will give you a score that reflects your in-game behavior. You’ll earn a high score and unlock exclusive rewards over time by being a good and respectful teammate. But if the system detects you being unsportsmanlike or negative to your teammates, your score will drop, and so will your access to features like Ranked. If you want to learn more about the Player Behavior System, be sure to check our deep dive on it here

AAA ARAM

Later in the patch we’ll be launching a whimsical update to AAA ARAM. Not only will the map be whimsical, but so will the gameplay. You’ll be able to choose an Ultimate Spellbook skill before you enter the game. And we’ll also be adding over 60 new cards! And last but not least, we’ll also be adding different animal archetypes, so you’ll be able to choose different animals and get different upgrades. Stay tuned for a future Rift Report closer to AAA ARAM’s launch when we’ll reveal more of the cards and all the animal archetypes.

WILD PASS & SKINS

Of course it’s not a new patch without a new Wild Pass and some new skins. The first Wild Pass of this patch will feature Wondertown Lillia! And the second pass will be Battlecast Urgot. Who are you most excited for?

CREATOR OF THE WEEK

To celebrate the launch of our Patch, we want to highlight Coach Recmeister! He is a former coach and current shoutcaster for Wildrounds Pilipinas 2025!
