Everything you need to know about Wild Rounds: SMASH

The largest Wild Rift community event is happening next month! Wild Rounds: SMASH will be making its return, November 14-16 in Vietnam! There will be creators from multiple regions and pros from China coming together to compete in 1v1’s, 5v5’s, and more. We’ll also have many activities on site, live Dev Q&A’s, and more. The stage is set, our players are ready, let's dive into all the details.

Event Information

The Main Event

The main event for Wild Rounds: SMASH is the 5v5 and 1v1/AAA ARAM tournament matches. Information for how the event will work is shared below.

On-Site Activations

Throughout the tournament there will be lots of activities to do around the event during the weekend!

Attendees will be able to meet our devs and join in on Q&A’s, where they can ask questions about the latest patch, upcoming patches, or any other burning questions they might have about Wild Rift!

We’ll also have a variety of fun activities including themed food, cosplay meetups, games, and much more! Stay tuned to this channel for more information on the event and in-person activations as we get closer to the event.

Main Event Information

Wild Rounds: SMASH will feature two different formats. The first is our 5v5. This will feature two tracks. The pro track which will feature two pro all star teams, the winner will be decided after best of five series. Then there will be a creator track. This will feature six creator teams that will go head to head in single round-robin matches. The top two teams will then enter the final to decide the champion through a best of three series.

Our second format will be 1v1 and AAA ARAM. The 1v1 and AAA ARAM modes are merged this year in a Team Relay. Each team will use a mixture of 1v1 and AAA ARAM every time they play each other. We will take eight teams and divide them into two groups, each team in the group will play a single round robin match, the winning team of each match will get one point. Each match will consist of three 1v1 games, and one AAA ARAM game, and the winners will get the corresponding scores. One score will be accumulated for each game of 1v1, and two scores will be accumulated for each game of AAA ARAM. In a match, the team that gets three or more scores will win the match. The top team in each group will then advance to the final.

The final will then consist of three 1v1 matches and one AAA ARAM game. Scores will be calculated the same way from the previous round. And just like in the previous round, the team that gets three or more points first will win the match. And the final winning team will become the champion of the Team Relay!

Trophy Design

This year we have a special trophy that we can’t wait for the victors to lift up. We wanted to work with our friends in Vietnam to design this trophy so that it could encapsulate Vietnam and the Wild Rift community as a whole. To start, we made sure the trophy has 3 round shapes, which represents the community that plays Wild Rift and how we are always growing and expanding. This is also why the 3 spirals are going upward, because we are continuing to grow and thrive together. You’ll also notice in the center is our infamous Wild Rift logo. This is because we all come together to play Wild Rift, it's the glue that brings and holds us all together. Last but certainly not least, the bottom features the hosting region’s symbol, which will change every year. As we mentioned, this year we worked with Vietnam and the special symbol that they picked this year is Vietnam's Đông Sơn bronze drum - Lạc bird. The Lạc bird is an ancient Vietnamese artifact that symbolizes freedom and ambition. We’re so happy that we can highlight this special symbol and can’t wait to continue to spotlight each host region every year.
