Hey everyone! We just released our Patch Preview for 6.2. David, John, and Ke shared some information about what’s heading to you soon! If you haven’t checked it out already, you can here. Something that Ke mentioned was our patch theme for 6.2, which is, Soulforce Awakening.

WHAT IS SOULFORCE AWAKENING?

As we mentioned last patch, we want to keep theming our patches and improving on how we do that patch to patch based on the feedback that we receive from you. Last patch it was all about looking at the stars and lighting up the special constellations in the night sky, which served as your guidepost for that patch. These guideposts were Challenger Star and Adventure Star, which were where we housed our PvP, Ranked, and Adventure Modes. In 6.2, we don’t want you to stop and take a look above at the night sky, instead we want you to close your eyes, take a deep breath, and get ready to embark on your training arc!

We’ve decked out the whole game in this new theme. So once again, you’ll notice a stained glass that will greet you when you log in and serve as a way to guide you through the patch and help you find your inner strength. You’ll see the patch theme scattered throughout the game in the champion select, the store, and even the loading screen. As we mentioned earlier, in patch 6.1, our Dual Nova system focused on highlighting two major features, Adventurer’s Star and Challenger’s Star. But this patch, like we’ve said a few times, is all about finding your inner strength. So Soulforce Awakening will be spotlighting all the exciting content the team has worked hard to bring you! Like the new champions, map and item updates, Adventure Mode updates (we can’t wait for the Mystical AAA ARAM), the collection system enhancements, and more. We wanted Soulforce Awakening to serve as your guide, to encourage you to dig deep within yourself to find that strength, and try out new champions and all this patch has to offer.

SUPER ENERGY

Along with the theming, all throughout Patch 6.2 you’ll be able to earn Super Energy. This special energy will be scattered all throughout the patch, and you’ll be able to collect Super Energy through an array of engagement activities. For example, one way you can gain friendly energy is through daily team-up mission rewards! There will be six different types of Super Energy you can earn:

  1. Fun Energy 

  2. Friendly Energy 

  3. Battle Energy 

  4. Hard work Energy 

  5. Growth Energy 

  6. Collection Energy 

Similarly to the constellations in Dual Nova, as you collect Super Energy, a window will pop up and let you know that you gained the currency. Additionally, you’ll be able to earn this energy at your own pace, and Super Energy is tied to the new content and mechanics that we’re releasing this patch, like our mystical AAA ARAM update or our new Honor System. So play games, check out the new content, and you’ll be rewarded. 

SOULFORCE BOX

You heard us right, your Soulforce Energy won’t only help you on your journey throughout Patch 6.2, it will also reward you. As you collect Soulforce Energy, you’ll level up your Soulforce Box, which is located in the center of your stained glass. You’ll be able to see how much Soulforce Energy you have collected, how you collected that energy, and how much you need to open a special treasure. Once you collect enough, you’ll be able to open your treasure and earn rewards. There are 12 different rewards in total, which are legendary ranked packs (from gold to green), condensed ore, consumable trial cards, and the special reward Aurora chroma skins. Yes, skins! There are six different Aurora chromas that are available as a reward through Soulforce Awakening. After every 10 draws, you’ll be guaranteed one of these magical Chromas. So you’ll be able to hop, skip, and zap your opponents away in style when you queue up as Aurora.
